Director of Sales

Work Schedule: M-F, 9-5 ET (negotiable)
Work Location: On-site in Sperryville VA, hybrid, or remote in CT, FL, GA, MA, MD, ME, NM, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WV
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 DOE, plus commission

Position Description:
Antimicrobial Therapy Inc. (also known as “Sanford Guide”) seeks an experienced Director of Sales to lead sales efforts to hospitals and healthcare systems in the US and abroad. A leader in the field of infectious disease treatment guidelines and antimicrobial stewardship since 1969, AMT offers multiple solutions in the Healthcare IT market via innovative technology offerings and top-rated treatment guidelines.

We are a small family-owned and operated business devoted to helping prescribers and pharmacists make decisions that lower costs and improve patient care. The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading our sales and accounts team, conducting market analyses, developing strategy and processes for B2B and B2C sales, coordinating sales efforts with others on the management team, participating in industry trade shows.

The successful candidate will be be passionate, energetic, capable of working with minimal supervision, and have a well-documented record of leadership and hands-on experience meeting or exceeding sales targets. The individual will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with potential clients and stakeholders ranging from front-line clinicians to C-suite executives. Individuals with an interest in contributing to a team-wide effort to market, sell, support, and continually improve a great product will be especially well-suited to this position.

The Director of Sales will report to the Chief Operating Officer, and as a department head, will be expected to contribute regularly to the management team.

Duties:

  • Sales
    • Serve as a member of the sales team, responsible for generating and cultivating leads, coordinating demos, negotiating contracts, closing deals, and maintaining relationships with our clients
    • Participate in industry trade shows, serving as a front-line representative of the company to establish and nurture relationships between our clients and our brand
    • Develop and implement strategies to close the deal by meeting client needs while maintaining profitability
    • Conduct online demos of our products, including product demonstrations, pricing presentations, and Q&A
    • Develop and maintain relationships to facilitate channel sales
  • Team Leadership
    • Provide training, support, and leadership to the sales staff
    • Provide mentorship to the sales team as they work through the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing the deal, and beyond
  • Analysis & Strategic Planning
    • Conduct market analyses and work with the Director of Marketing and COO to adjust the sales strategy based on shifting market conditions
    • Gather, organize, and present both quantitative and qualitative data to the management team to help inform decisions
  • Other duties as assigned (you might have a skill we haven’t thought of)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, medical device, or pharmaceutical sales
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a sales team
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platform
  • Comfort with MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to utilize Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
  • Technologically savvy, with an understanding of web and mobile interfaces, troubleshooting steps, and the role of technology in healthcare
  • Ability to apply basic statistical methods to identify trends using sound techniques
  • Positive attitude and commitment to proactive problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfort meeting and interacting with professionals, including C-suite executives
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different personalities
  • Meticulous attention to detail (be sure to mention this in your cover letter)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Maintain current vaccinations for influenza and other infectious diseases

Desired Skills & Qualifications (nice to have):

  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills (including QuickBooks)
  • Proficiency in other languages (especially Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian)
  • Experience with remote international sales
  • Familiarity with AI and its evolving role in the healthcare space
  • Experience working in a business with fewer than 50 employees
  • Ability to read, understand, and make minor edits to legal contracts

Compensation & Work Environment:

  • Starting salary of $100-120k/year, commission, and modest annual bonus
  • 100% health insurance for employee, 50% for dependents
  • Vision & dental insurance
  • Minimum 24 days paid leave per year, plus 2 weeks additional leave every 3 years
  • 12 paid holidays (13 for U.S. veterans)
