Antimicrobial Therapy Inc., publisher and developer of Sanford Guide healthcare solutions, seeks a full-time Technical Program Manager to lead our small and nimble software development and technical team as we develop and maintain software that saves lives. The successful candidate will have a “roll up the sleeves and get it done” attitude, be self-motivated, highly organized, technically savvy, and excited about the opportunity to see the projects they manage support healthcare providers and improve the quality of healthcare in over 100 countries around the world.

 

Antimicrobial Therapy, Inc., now in its 52nd year, is a leading provider of rapid-reference materials and guideline-sharing technologies that aid prescribers and pharmacists in the treatment of infectious diseases and appropriate use of anti-infectives. We have top-rated mobile apps, an API that integrates our content into healthcare IT platforms, and a web portal, together supporting an estimated 500,000+ medical professionals. As a small business, each employee is integral to the team’s success. While the US-based software development team is largely working remotely, each member is a critical part of our tight-knit community working to help our clients optimize patient care.

 

Our ideal candidate will be someone with 5+ years of experience as a team lead who excels at ushering new projects and features through the development process, from concept to deployment, in a way that is organized, efficient, and innovative. 

 

This position may be performed remotely with occasional travel for meetings and an annual staff retreat, on-site in our Sperryville, Virginia offices (next to Shenandoah National Park), or a combination of the two.

Duties:

  • Coordinate the efforts of and provide technical leadership for our seven-member (and growing) software development and support team
  • Manage the full development life cycle and project scope for all products and features
  • Set and maintain high standards for software development and documentation
  • Coordinate workflow of multiple technical team members, and improve processes that produce and maintain our products and services
  • Work with management and staff to gather requirements and develop user stories for new features and products
  • Translate business requirements and user stories into technical requirements 
  • Work with senior engineers to develop and optimize the technical design and approach for all projects
  • Develop plans, establish timelines, and lead the execution of all software development projects
  • Ensure that projects meet all requirements and come in on time and under budget
  • Effectively prioritize multiple concurrent projects and work with the team to incorporate smaller tasks into projects in an efficient manner
  • Anticipate potential bottlenecks and lead the team in keeping all projects on a forward trajectory
  • Ensure rigorous testing of all code changes prior to deployment
  • Coordinate deployment of all new features and products with management and other team leads
  • Communicate with staff to keep all team members in the loop on project timelines and front-end changes to functionality as new features and products are deployed
  • Serve as the primary technical contact with major clients and troubleshoot issues as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to develop diagrams, flowcharts, and similar process-oriented visual communication tools
  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years experience as Product Manager, Program Manager, Scrum Master, or similar technical team leadership position
  • Experience cultivating and providing constructive feedback to a software team to support professional growth
  • Experience serving as primary manager for a Kanban board or similar
  • Expertise in agile project management
  • Leadership in establishing, monitoring, and improving qualitative and quantitative performance metrics
  • Understanding of design patterns, data structures, automated and manual product testing, and the software development life cycle
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar (or equivalent work experience in project leadership roles)
  • Maintain current vaccinations for influenza, COVID-19, and other viruses as necessary
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Software development experience
  • PMP or Agile-Certified

Compensation & Work Environment:

  • $120,000-$150,000 (Competitive, based on experience & qualifications)

The successful candidate will have a “roll up the sleeves and get it done” attitude, be self-motivated, highly organized, technically savvy, and excited about joining a small and nimble team that works hard to improve healthcare around the world.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive marketing experience and a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare market, including hospitals & health systems, diagnostic laboratories, clinical surveillance platforms, EHRs, pharmacy chains, primary care offices, long-term-care facilities, and more. While contract support will be available for some marketing functions, most work will need to be completed independently by the Director of Marketing. This position will report directly to senior management, but will not initially have significant supervisory responsibilities - as a small company, you will be the marketing “department.”

Duties:

  • Provide multifaceted marketing expertise and leadership for a strong brand with 50+ years of global leadership
  • Develop and manage a marketing budget for both B2C and B2B efforts
  • Train sales staff in brand, messaging, etc., continually refining processes and messages
  • Participate in sales meetings to review the sales pipeline, resolve challenges, and identify strategies to grow market share and close sales
  • Establish and monitor key marketing performance efforts to provide market research, forecasts, competitor analysis, campaign ROI, and industry trends
  • ​​Spearhead the strategic and tactical execution of marketing campaigns, including design of test/control segmentation, implementation of tests, tracking, results reporting, analysis, and recommendations
  • Develop marketing strategy and sales forecasting for new and existing products
  • Establish and grow a target market share
  • Negotiate contracts and work with contractors to assist with and manage some marketing functions
  • Coordinate participation in trade shows
  • Maintain content on our marketing site and implement SEO strategies
  • Manage social media presence and respond to social media contacts
  • Develop video advertisements and product demos

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years in healthcare marketing 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement marketing campaigns and plans
  • Experience managing a budget, measuring and reporting on ROI
  • Interest in marketing for both a domestic and global audience
  • Experience with web site content development, SEO, and search ads
  • Comfortable with MS Office and Google Suite
