Cyber Security & IT Specialist

Work Schedule: M-F, 9-5 ET (negotiable)

Work Location: On-site in Sperryville, remote, or hybrid

Salary: $110,000-$140,000 DOE

Antimicrobial Therapy Inc., publisher and developer of Sanford Guide healthcare solutions, seeks a full-time Cyber Security and IT Specialist to develop, improve, and implement best security practices across the company’s IT network. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, a fast learner, technically savvy, a team player, effective in written and verbal communication, and excited about joining a small and nimble team that works hard to improve healthcare around the world.

Now in its 55th year, Antimicrobial Therapy Inc. is a leading provider of rapid-reference guidelines that aid prescribers and pharmacists in the treatment of infectious diseases and appropriate use of antibiotics. We have top-rated mobile apps, an API that integrates our content into healthcare IT platforms, a web portal, and print manuals, together supporting over 500,000 users around the world. This position will report to our Chief Technology Officer.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement security policies across the company’s infrastructure
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with security policies and procedures
  • Act as systems administrator for company’s IT systems (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux)
  • Assist in the management of company’s AWS infrastructure
  • Help maintain cloud servers and ensure security patches are deployed as needed
  • Perform periodic security audits on company’s infrastructure, developed software, and websites
  • Work with software development team to ensure developed software follows best security practices
  • Assist incident response team on any security incident

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related degree or work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant IT security experience
  • 3+ years of relevant systems/network administration experience
  • Comfortable with MS Office and Google Suite
  • Experience with creating, managing, and deploying resources in AWS
  • Proficiency with: Anti-Virus, Packet Capturing, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Vulnerability Scanning, and/or Firewall Administration
  • Knowledge and demonstrated leadership in Network Security, Network Protocols, and Information Security policy development and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to help assist and educate developers and staff members on Cyber Security best practices

  • Ability to translate written Cyber Security Policies into actionable best practices
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States
  • Maintain current vaccinations for influenza, COVID-19, and other viruses as necessary

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (or other similar certifications)
  • Candidates with an active or past US Federal Security Clearance are encouraged to apply!
  • Understanding of the NIST and OWASP Cyber Security Frameworks and best practices
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, and other similar privacy frameworks
  • Hands on experience performing web application penetration testing

Compensation & Work Environment:

  • $110,000-$140,000 (Competitive, based on experience & qualifications)
  • 100% health insurance for employee, 50% for dependents
  • Minimum 24 days paid leave per year, plus 2 weeks additional leave every 3 years
  • 12 paid holidays (13 for US veterans)
  • Profit-sharing 401k after one year

Mobile Software Developer (iOS/Android Native)

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, a fast learner, technically savvy, a team player, effective in written and verbal communication, and excited about joining a small and nimble team that works hard to improve healthcare around the world.

Duties:

  • Design solutions to support diverse use cases
  • Develop software as part of a multifaceted development team
  • Test software both pre- and post-deployment
  • Maintain code to ensure compatibility and security
  • Document code and processes for comprehension by fellow developers and non-technical audiences
  • Coordinate with colleagues to see projects through to completion
  • Debug issues as they occur

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or other related degree
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing mobile software applications
  • Software Languages: iOS Swift or Android Java/Kotlin, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience developing and testing native mobile applications using Android Studio or iOS XCode
  • Experience consuming RESTful API endpoints in a mobile application
  • In-depth knowledge or the mobile application lifecycle
  • Experience working with a shared coding repository and Git flow best practices

  • Familiarity with web development architecture (LAMP stack) and how it interacts with a mobile application is a plus
  • Experience with deployable JavaScript libraries such as Webpack and NodeJS and how they can be used in a mobile application
  • Basic knowledge of AWS and how Web Applications are deployed and hosted on AWS so you can participate in design discussions
  • Education or experience in the healthcare sector
  • Experience working collaboratively in a remote work environment
  • Familiarity with Apple and/or Google's in-app subscription models
  • Familiarity with Apple's App Review Guidelines
